Affordable Fixed Prostheses

Individual crowns for 11, 21 and 31 and a fixed partial prosthesis to replace 14, 15 and 16. Tooth numbers 13 and 17 were used as the abutment teeth.

For this case the missing teeth are upper first molar, upper second premolar and upper first premolar. A fixed partial denture was fabricated to replace the missing teeth. The cuspid and second molar were used as abutments. They were prepared, 2 mm reduction with shoulder margin on the labial and chamfer on the lingual. Porcelain fused to metal was chosen as the material for this bridge to attain enough structural strength. To balance the occlusion three pontics were used, eventhough esthetically, the space can be filled up by two pontics. Ceramics fused to metal was also used to lower the cost. Individual porcelain fused to metal crowns were also fabricated for the upper lateral incisor, and two upper central incisors. Butt joint was implemented around the margin to hide the reflection of the metal structure labially and of course, to enhance the overall esthetics.
