Removable Partial Denture with Metal Framework

Cobalt Chromium Framework for Upper and Lower Removable Partial Dentures

A Removable Partial Denture with a framework of cobalt chromium is definitive denture treatment. Definitive in a sense that it has excellent mechanical qualities and offers denture design possibilities that consider periodontal health of the abutment teeth, esthetics and patient comfort. The design of the framework should be simple as possible, with bases and major and minor connectors avoiding contact with free gingiva and contacting alveolar ridge or the palate approximately 3 mm from the teeth.

It’s a combo RPD of casted metal framework and valplast. Recurrent sore spots are avoided because its framework is rigid. It resists pressure.

Affordable Denture Treatment

A low cost technique for overdenture treatment is the transformation of Patient’s existing removable partial denture into a complete denture. It has an advantage that the patient is familiar with the denture, thus adaptation is likely to be uncomplicated. The first step in this procedure is to take an impression for relining the denture. Second is an alginate impression comprising the denture and the remaining natural teeth. The impression is filled with plaster, and the plaster teeth are removed from ensuing model.
