Conventional Metal Ceramic Fixed Partial Denture

Porcelain Fused to Metal Fixed Partial Denture - Unglazed
The most popular choice for fixed partial dentures remains to be the metal ceramic restorations. This is attributed to natural looking ceramic material supported with a high strength of metal alloy. Added to this property is its ease of fabrication and affordable pricing. However they are now being challenged by metal free ceramic restorations, specifically with CAD-CAM Zirconium Systems. Metal ceramic fixed partial dentures need to adapt by providing better esthetics with conventional procedures and equipment. Technique modifications and improvements in materials are important to make metal ceramic fpd still the most popular choice for restoration.

Butt-joint can be employed on the labial to enhance the esthetics of porcelain fused to metal fixed partial dentures.
I agree with what Dentist posted. Make sure there is enough tooth tissue reduction so that optimum thickness of FPD restoration will be achieved.
